Hi! My name is Emily and I am a writer living in Houston, Texas. I have been writing all my life, but professionally speaking, since 2005. Successful people everywhere always have the same piece of advice for others climbing the ranks: do what you love and you will succeed. Writing is my true passion and calling in life so that is what I have chosen for my profession.

I studied print and photojournalism in the highly competitive School of Journalism at The University of Texas at Austin. Since graduating, I have dabbled in everything from newspaper reporting to technical writing. My primary strength lies in feature writing. I love to tell other people’s stories because frankly, people fascinate me.

Successful people also advise to always strive to grow and learn in your field, no matter how seasoned you are. With that tip, I have begun to experiment in creative writing. Last summer I took a writing workshop, where I learned a tremendous amount about creative writing as well as where I fit into that realm. I plan to always grow and solicit constructive criticism.
